Advertising is one of the forms of influence on people. It has been often studied and according to these studies, is said to be very  effective.
Many people are more than annoyed by advertisements  during their favourite TV programme, bill boards with smiling faces every few meters, tons of leaflets and flyers on the streets and in their mailboxes every day. Many say in anger: I wish advertising was banned. These people forget that there are different types of advertisements  and they serve diverse purposes.
Some of these purposes are honest. There are a worldwide organisations that fight with famine in Third  Word  countries, that help rebuild schools and hospitals after all kinds of disasters, that protect endangered species or do thousand of other, important things that we don't really care about in our everyday lives. These organisations advertise actions that impulse people to donate money or volunteer  to help. 
Similarly there are also social advertisements  under the patronage of governments. They for example inform about social actions against  child molesting, drugs or HIV  and its consequences. 
Political advertisements  serve another purpose. In these, politicians propose their views and programmes to make Poland powerful  and important in Europe. We usually dont believe in these. 
Advertising can be annoying and deceitful  and often is but these examples show how important it is every society to help integrate people and most of all it is a powerful  source of information.
